After years of coaching writers who struggled with procrastination issues, high sensitivity to criticism, and crippling self doubt, Lauren Sapala realized that almost every one of her clients was an INFJ or INFP.

Using the insights gleaned from these clients, as well as her own personal story, Sapala shows us how the experience of the intuitive writer can be radically different from the norm. INFJ writers don’t think like anyone else, and their highly creative brains take a toll on them that they rarely share with the outside world.

The INFJ Writer discusses such topics as

How an INFJ writer’s physical health is tied to their creative output

Why INFJ writers are more likely to fall prey to addictions

When an INFJ writer should use their natural psychic ability to do their best creative work

Whether looking to start writing again or to finish the novel/memoir they started so long ago, any writer with the self-awareness to identify themselves as highly sensitive and intuitive will benefit from this book that helps them to find their own magic, and to finally use it to build the creative life that actually works for them.

The INFJ Writer Cracking the Creative Genius of the World Rarest Type edition by Lauren Sapala Health Fitness Dieting eBooks

This book has become a staple in my writing courses and private food for my own writer's soul. Yes, she's talking directly to those of us who write, but her clarity of vision about the treasure and struggles of INF_ nature creates a feeling of looking in a friendly mirror that is sure to help non writers, too.

There's a lot to like about this practical book, but I especially appreciate how Ms. Sapala reveals the INF_ shadow aspects and gives instruction about accessing the "superpowers" in them, rather than allowing them to cripple us.

Like alchemy that turns lead into gold... this book is ultimately about deep creative healing.

This book has changed my life as a writer in such a positive way. Reading it was like reading someone's observations of my innermost thoughts and habits as a writer. How did Lauren get into my brain and my heart? She's remarkable. She lays out the challenges and advantages of being a sensitive, intuitive writer in a very engaging, funny, encouraging, and easily digested book.

I am ENFJ but found a lot I could relate to in The INFJ Writer. Also, I really appreciated the chapter at the end of the book that focused just on ENFJs.

After finishing this book in just two sittings, I came away with many aha! moments, as well as some great tips that will help me become a more happy and productive writer. I highly recommend this book for all writers that have a Myers-Briggs type with NF.
This is a great book, I can't believe it's only $3. What a rare find. I found out I was an INFJ a few months ago. I always thought I was another type. I recognized a lot of things that I had already thought about my own writing style in this book. So good to find affirmation in a book geared toward the "sensitive intuitive" population. Much of the conventional writing wisdom of the day revolves around finding a writer's group and getting negative feedback. I've never found any of this helpful. I've slowly backed away from most critique based groups and now I'm interested in starting one based off of the insights of this book.

Has a lot of good exercises to get your creativity jump-started. Simple, yet ingenious, I've been doing some of the exercises and I find that it's helped me get started on the path to true self-expression. My voice is a lot better now that I'm not constantly editing and filtering what I write.

I recommend this for any NF writer, this is a great resource!
This book was another eye-opener for me. I learned why I persist in my self-destructive behavior in my writing life, why I am a perfectionist, and why I meet so few people like me. (We're 1% of the population) . There are certain seminal books that seem to slap you in the face and say, "This is about you--pay attention." The last one to do so for me was a book on the Enneagram (I'm a Four, of course). The INFJ Writer also noted that we seem to be obsessed with studying personality types, trying to learn about others, but more importantly, ourselves. Now, if I can just figure out what to do with all this information I've learned about myself.
This book isn't a hard psychology text, nor is it full-blown grave-yawning joie de vivre full of mystery and woo. It's an introduction to process for INFJs who want to better understand their motivations, aversions, and how to work with their natural tendencies. It's definitely aimed at writers, but could be applied to painters, musicians, or any other creative type. The latter chapters on ENFP, INFP, and ENFJ don't go into great depth, but draw some parallels that the INFJ can use to relate to these other types.

Here she's collected and distilled her research (sources listed at the end) and her own experiences to help position INFJs to take their first steps toward writing -- covering everything from craft to writing groups to conferences. Sapala's writing is (as always) authentic, relatable, and above all encouraging. Highly recommended for brand new and aspiring writers in need of positive reinforcement.
First, full disclosure Lauren has been my writing coach for almost two years. I had been trying to write my story, and after 20 years of stopping, starting, and beating myself up about not writing it, I found Lauren. I've known I was an INFJ for years, but didn't really understand how differently we process things until I started wondering why I was having such a hard time with my writing. I'm so happy that Lauren has written this book. It's just like she is - insightful, kind, empathetic, and most of all - HELPFUL. This book is like having the coach in your pocket. The exercises in the book are many of the same ones she started me out with when we first started working together. For years I had been tormented that I couldn't write everyday, that my words felt stuck, that it was never going to be good enough - but I've had a paradigm shift working with Lauren. INFJ's work differently than others. We get our information in ways we can't quite explain. Our bodies often manifest our troubles and it's important to our work to recognize our sensitivities. If you are stuck in your head and can't get the writing out, consider this book good medicine. My writing has flourished with Lauren's help, and this book will help you, too.
This is a well crafted guide for any sensitive intuitive (NF) writer out there. It took me a long time to figure out that I was an INFJ, and when I did, my weirdness started to make sense. This book answers a number of questions regarding the unconventional writing process NF types go through, and better yet, it's full of useful tools to overcome writers block, the torturous editing process, and ways to better understand yourself as a person, not just as a writer. If you're an INFJ, INFP, ENFJ, or ENFP, this is a must-read.
